Z has been playing AYSO soccer (this is his first time) and it has been a lot of fun for him to experience what it is like to be on a sports team and make new friends. I have had a lot of fun taking him to his practices and games, and it's just fun to take advantage of the playground and free lunch offered afterwards. Woohoo!
Our good friends who moved to Provo last year for graduate school have been staying with us all summer to help out with work. T and his high school BFF B have been plumbing together, while B's wife and kids have been keeping my kids entertained. They will be leaving next week and we will really miss them! It's been so nice to have them around because T has spent MANY late nights plumbing and I've been feeling like a single mom.
I finally completed the 75 hours required for my internship and have been anxiously awaiting the publication of my work. The fair guide I have been working on all summer was just put up online. I wrote another article in the September/October issue of I.F. Magazine and that should be coming out mid-August.
Vi's birthday was July 28th and she turned 3 years old! Can you believe it? We had a great time celebrating with friends and family, and Vi got her bounce house for the party, as promised!
I have been running and biking a lot this summer and have ran in 3 5ks so far. With each race I have improved my time and that has been really fun for me. I just love being in shape and having my clothes fit like I want them to, you know? It has been great to have a workout buddy (my friend L aka Gator who has been staying with us). I may or may not be running a 10k at the end of the month, it just depends on my motivation after my first week back at school and whether or not my aunt in Utah will be able to come up and run it with me.
Last weekend T, Z and I drove to Salt Lake with my sister-in-law and nephew for some fun at Lagoon. This year Z was very brave and went on a lot more rides than he did last year. The Bat and Rattlesnake Rapids were his favorite rides! On our way back, we stopped at McGrath's Fish House in Layton and the food was delicious! I will definately go back. Over the next week and half before school starts, I plan on going school shopping and getting my house all organized and ready for the chaotic start of the school year. Z will be in first grade and Vi will be going to the preschool at ISU.
